Shining Stars: Winners & Notable Entries

We occasionally receive feedback questioning whether some winning poems are too advanced to be student-created; while we appreciate these concerns, we remain confident in the authenticity of all selected works. Our winners are chosen for their originality, expression, and depth of thought, and with a large number of entries, it is natural that gifted young poets—often writing beyond their grade level—emerge among the top selections. To ensure integrity, each winning submission is verified with parents and, where possible, teachers before awards are finalized. In addition to the Top Ten Winners, we recognize distinguished work through a High Merit category, and students whose poems rank in the top 50% are also invited to be featured in our publication, celebrating a broad spectrum of creative voices.
